## Updates from OVHcloud

### scheduled, 2026-11-04 17:06 UTC

As part of our continuous improvement plan, we will change the layout of the EFI System Partition (ESP) for new installations of AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux 8 and 9 on UEFI Dedicated servers. Start time : 03/12/2026 10:00 UTC End time : 03/12/2026 11:00 UTC Service impact : None. Installed servers keep their current layout until they are reinstalled. From the start of the maintenance, new installations of the OSes listed below on UEFI servers with several disks will get an ESP over RAID1. Servers that boot in legacy (BIOS) mode, and installations on a single disk or on a hardware RAID volume, are not affected. List of affected OSes: AlmaLinux 8 (and its cPanel and Plesk variants) AlmaLinux 9 (and its cPanel and Plesk variants) Rocky Linux 8 Rocky Linux 9 Service improvement : Instead of one ESP per disk, which could cause problems after bootloader updates, new installations will get a single ESP over RAID1, kept in sync on all the disks, like Debian 13 and Proxmox VE 9. As part of our continuous improvement plan, maintenance is scheduled on our Dedicated Servers offer. Start time : 03/12/2026 10:00 UTC End time : 03/12/2026 11:00 UTC Service impact : During the maintenance window, installations and reinstallations of AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux operating systems (including cPanel and Plesk variants) may be temporarily affected on UEFI servers with more than one disk. Servers already installed will not be impacted. Service improvement : As part of our continuous improvement policy, we are improving the disk partitioning of new installations by placing the EFI System Partition on a RAID1 array, which increases boot resilience. Thank you for your understanding.
